Genesis of the "NO" Logo
In history there have been two basic forms of social organization: collectivism and individualism. In the 20th and 21st century, collective variations have included socialism, fascism, Nazism, and communism. Under collectivism, a ruling class of “intellectuals”, bureaucrats, politicians and/or social planners decides what people want or what is “good” for society and then uses the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax and redistribute wealth in an attempt to achieve their desired objectives. Individualism is a political and social philosophy that emphasizes individual liberty, belief in the primary importance of the individual and in the virtues of self-reliance and personal independence and responsibility. It embraces opposition to controls over the individual when exercised by the state. The Preamble to our Constitution makes it plain that all power rests originally with the people, as individuals.
The “O” within the circle represents collectivism in its various forms. The “N” represents an emphatic repudiation of collectivism. The red, white and blue circles encompassing the “NO” are emblematic of our Republic. It is the responsibility of the individuals in an engaged and enlightened republic to limit the influence of the government, especially one that attempts to wield power outside the boundaries delineated by the Constitution.

Thought for the Day
"Try walking the halls of Congress. It's Abercrombie & Fitch meets the Hair Club for Men. Lots of really photogenic young people kissing up to lots of insufferable blowhards. Separated by one or two generations, most of these players have only one real thing in common: They have never been weaned from the public teat. The closest they've ever come to meeting a payroll is when they come together to spend everyone else's payroll taxes." -- Michelle Malkin (1970-) American jourmalist, political commentator and author

Thoughts for the Day
"You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man's age-old dream --the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order --or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism. Regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would sacrifice freedom for security have embarked on this downward path. Plutarch warned, 'The real destroyer of the liberties of the people is he who spreads among them bounties, donations and benefits.'" -- Ronald Reagan (1911-2004) 40th
"Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed
of ignorance and the gospel of envy." -- Winston Churchill (1874-1965)

Better to starve free than be a fat slave." –
Aesop (c. 550 B.C.) legendary Greek
fabulist
I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. In my youth I travelled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer. -- Ben Franklin
"Shared sacrifice" really means taking other people's money, while "greed" is not wanting to give it up and "responsibility" is when the government takes it anyway. Jonah Goldberg
"Beware the greedy hand of government, thrusting itself into every corner and crevice of industry."
-- Thomas Paine (1737-1809)
"Those who would give up essential Liberty to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve
neither Liberty
nor Safety." -- Ben Franklin
The difference between a welfare state and a
totalitarian state is a matter of time. Ayn Rand

Why the Muslims Hate Us
As we watch the rioters attacking the U.S. embassy, we see the poverty and high unemployment and wonder, “How can countries be so poor if they are so rich in oil, so flush with U.S. aid, and so blessed with pyramids and other tourist attractions?” That’s a good question, and comparing the history and culture of the U.S. and the Moslem world is the place to start.

Five Deadly Effects of QE3
What will be the effects of QE3? This much we know: The economy is not suffering for lack of QE3. The economy is suffering because of a broken banking system caused by QE1 and QE2. The capital sector is laden down with artificiality, thanks to QE1 and QE2. Unemployment remains high, and nearly catastrophic for young people, thanks to the high costs of hiring due to regulations and mandates.

Thought for the Day
Original Chinese Proverb:
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.
2012 White House Revision:
Give a man a welfare check, a free cell phone with unlimited free minutes, cash for his clunker, food stamps, section 8 housing, free contraceptives, Medicaid, ninety-nine weeks of unemployment, free medicine, and he will vote for Democrats the rest of his life; even after he's deceased.

Readings from the Book of Barack
1 In the beginning Govt created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the economy was formless and void, darkness was over the surface of the ATMs, and the Spirit of Govt was hovering over the land.

"The seven blunders that human society commits and cause all the violence: wealth without work, pleasure without conscience, knowledge without character, commerce without morality, science without humanity, worship without sacrifice, and politics without principles." -- Mahatma Mohandas K.
