Genesis of the "NO" Logo

In history there have been two basic forms of social organization: collectivism and individualism. In the 20th and 21st century, collective variations have included socialism, fascism, Nazism, and communism. Under collectivism, a ruling class of “intellectuals”, bureaucrats, politicians and/or social planners decides what people want or what is “good” for society and then uses the coercive power of the State to regulate, tax and redistribute wealth in an attempt to achieve their desired objectives. Individualism is a political and social philosophy that emphasizes individual liberty, belief in the primary importance of the individual and in the virtues of self-reliance and personal independence and responsibility. It embraces opposition to controls over the individual when exercised by the state. The Preamble to our Constitution makes it plain that all power rests originally with the people, as individuals.
The “O” within the circle represents collectivism in its various forms. The “N” represents an emphatic repudiation of collectivism. The red, white and blue circles encompassing the “NO” are emblematic of our Republic. It is the responsibility of the individuals in an engaged and enlightened republic to limit the influence of the government, especially one that attempts to wield power outside the boundaries delineated by the Constitution.

Influencing American Government

These two articles are very thought provoking. You may have heard peripherally about the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilateral Commission. These two articles help to shed some light on the architects of a New World Order. Don't pass judgment until you read the articles.
Thomas Jefferson wrote: "The Central Bank is an institution of the most deadly hostility existing against the principles and form of our Constitution....if the American people allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

Planned Econony or Planned Destruction

75 years ago, this political cartoon was published in the Chicago Tribune in response to the New Deal policies of FDR. Fast forward to 2009. If nothing else, the progressives/statists are consistent!
The debate illustrates just how little Obama understands. John Stossel writes:

Dr. Obama and the Hypocrite's Oath

Great play on words and a good article regarding transparency or the lack thereof.

Here's a great article on how congress has contributed to the rising cost of health care.

Don't accept the premise of the health care debate

This website specifically addresses the perils of socialism/statism and the virtues of the free market system. The first article, "I don't accept the premise", attacks the progressive agenda. The second article gives some historical perspective on the spiraling costs of heatlh care.

Prevention as a cost cure-all is just a Myth

This editorial provides great insights from physician and political commentator Charles Krauthammer.

"How do you tell a Communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin." -- Ronald Reagan
(1911-2004) 40th US President

"When we are planning for posterity, we ought to remember that virtue is not hereditary."
-- Thomas Paine (1737-1809)

"Socialism is precisely the religion that must overwhelm Christianity. … In the new order, Socialism will triumph by first capturing the culture via infiltration of schools, universities, churches and the media by transforming the consciousness of society."
-- Antonio Gramsci Italian communist and “class warrior”

Extort thy neighbor, or how to ruin a nation

This is another great article from the American Thinker. "Free" government money is not free, but has been extorted from your neighbors.

I stumbled onto this article just a few minutes ago and it was too good not to post. I could not have summarized the current "liberal" state of affairs better.

Health Care Reform offered from a free-market perspective

This Wall Street Journal editorial was written by the CEO of the health food chain Whole Foods. This is a must read and one that encapsulates many free-market alternatives to a single payer system.

Duke university professor, John David Lewis, analyzes in detail aspects of HR 3200 Health care bill. He is not a lawyer nor is he a doctor. He is professor in the Philosophy, Polictics and Economics program.

The prognosis for National Health Insurance

Arthur Laffer is a respected economist who has taken the time to analyze the status of our current health delivery system and prognosticates on the consequences of the proposed health care legislation. Included is the 2 page fact sheet and the full 28 page report. The 3rd link is to an interesting article from my favorite blog, The American Thinker. It contains thoughts and solutions to health care costs.

A physician's perspective on government-run health care

"First off, the government has involved very few of us physicians in the healthcare debate. While the American Medical Association has come out in favor of the plan, it is vital to remember that the AMA only represents 17% of the American physician workforce."

Obama and Mathematics: Read this brief, insightful article from the Cato Institute discussing the CBO analysis of the proposed democratic health care plan.
